They say you can’t go back home

It was rather slow in the beginning and I was wondering where the novel was going. However, I hung in there and was rewarded with a fast paced mystery that kept me on the edge of my chair.

An excellent book in every way: writing, suspense, and knowledge of the Navajo people and their land. I couldn't put it down. My only quibble is that it was published in 2012 as first in a series. Where's #2?

I don’t often review books because others do a much better job of that than I can. But, this is one of those books that I really like as it is different from most books in this genre. When I started it I wasn’t sure about it as it didn’t begin in a “usual” plot line. I am so glad I keep reading it. I can hardly wait for the next book!

Started out to confuse me but as the read progressed my understanding n involvement grew n grew. I recommend this book. Enjoyed the complexity of the characters n the native American references to tradition.

Oh, Ilked this enough to stay up late finishing it. It was deep, dark and profound with the great release of freedom in the end. Want more!

Could not put this book down, great story lines, loved that each character was a hero in their own way. Reader could clearly picture the action taking place. Just very well written,easy for an older reader to follow. Thank you such a joy to read.

Some kind of a mix of James Oliver Curwood stories and Longmire. If you like the southwest, drama, mystery and a bit of romance, give it a try.

From the opening paragraph, intrigue surrounds the psyche of Marin Sinclair and I felt compelled to continue the journey. Troubling childhood memories made her feel vulnerable however, those same memories helped make her strong and able to face unforeseen danger she was destined for as she comes to the aid of a friend. Cultural challenges and friendships forged while growing up on a Navajo reservation are examined. The author's creative descriptions of events, emotions and knowledge of the Navajo paints a vivid story. Rabbit Moon is entertaining, exciting, and a very fast read.

This is a very different kind of book and an exciting read. It draws you in because you want to know more about the protagonist and how living on the reservation helped to shape her personality. Once the action begins, it really grabs you and takes you on a wild ride. The author is skilled at narrative without boring the reader. The Navajo influence is very real – I can vouch for it in my limited experience on the rez. But most of all, it is a compelling story and builds to an unexpected and satisfying conclusion. I’m very much looking forward to her next book!

I loved the suspense after the book got rolling. I want to read the sequel, but can't find it. Questions need to be answered.

A little slow to start but a really good story and prose. Will definitely read her other book s. Great characters.

I really enjoyed this book, the story kept you interested and not willing to stop reading. Enjoy everyone you won't be sorry you picked this one.

Rabbit Moon is a fascinating story that gives us a glimpse into the world of the Navajo Reservation, a world that most people have never seen. I spent my childhood on this reservation, many years ago. It was interesting to see how the story developed and remember things from my childhood that were so different from my adult life in the Anglo world. Very exciting plot, and I'm looking forward to the sequel!

I was pleasantly surprised how much I enjoyed reading a suspense novel with it's setting on an Indian reservation. The author gives wonderful details and insights into the culture on the reservation. Very suspense filled with unexpected twists and turns. Well written--can't wait to read the sequel.

Hoping next installment will be out soon! Rabbit Moon is a great mystery story with characters that leave you wanting to know more. Marin is a white girl who grew up on the Navajo Reservation. How do you define your sense of self when you have one foot in each world? Do you have to chose to live white or can you be a mix of each influence? Join Marin as she seeks the answers to these thought provoking questions and of course seeks out whats really going on on the Res. If you have experienced life on Res life/village life you will find an authentic voice here and none of those old tired cliches. Bring on book two!

“Avowed bibliophile” left a 1 star review based on glancing at 2 pages of a book?  Graphic violence? Hardly a review of the book and certainly not a good basis for judging the writer.   I found this author’s familiarity with the Navajo Reservation authentic and the storyline exciting. Marin Sinclair is exploring how her past is intertwined with the present.  With a growing cast of characters Marin is immersed not just in present mysteries, but in the age old quest of “knowing” yourself.  I look forward to more thought provoking books from this author!
